HISTORY
Rob's grandmother taught him how to cook and bake at a young age. Later in life Rob took some culinary classes at The Art Institue of Portland, and sculpture classes at the Academy of Art University Online program based out of San Francisco. Rob served two tours in the Iraq combat zone as a medic.
Kristina experience is in the government and legal field; however, she comes from a family of entrepreneurs and was always fascinated with small business, eventually taking a small business college course during her time in the military. Kristina is a veteran in support of the Iraq war conflict.
Kristina saw Rob's talent with bread back in 2014 and said, "we have to sell that!" and so began Kristina looking out for people on the local community Facebook page who were looking for someone to create an artistic cake. Kristina again thought, "Rob can do that!". Working together, Kristina manages the business from the ground up and wears many hats! Rob focuses on what he does best, creating cakes and communicating with clients.
Their daughter, Ana, used to help in the business with dishes and customer service. She has since moved away to pursues her own life goals. Their son, Shawn, used to be their backup/primary cashier, and now helps with dishes, customer service, and being a super helpful runner! We couldn't have made it this far without them.
Next Dimension Bakery (NDB) gained a following from Facebook in 2014 and opened a storefront in Forest Grove for 3 years (from Oct 2015 - Dec 2018). They decided to go back to working out of their home as a cottage bakery when they moved just down the road to Banks. They prefer to have direct contact with every baked item that leaves their hands. Staying small allows that!
